About Stephen S. Kalat, Ph.D.
Stephen S. Kalat, Ph.D. is a licensed psychologist with over thirty-five years experience in the Denver area. A graduate of The American University, Washington, D.C., 1977, Dr. Kalat completed his Clinical Psychology Internship at Denver General Hospital (now Denver Medical Center) in 1978. Dr. Kalat received neuropsychological training through continuing education programs of the University of Denver, National Academy of Neuropsychology, Reitan Neuropsychological Laboratory, American Psychological Association, and the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, along with two years of post-doctoral supervision in Clinical Neuropsychology. He has been in the practice of Neuropsychology since 1993.
Dr. Kalat has served as President of the Colorado Neuropsychological Society; on the Board of Directors of the Brain Injury Association of Colorado; as Director of Psychology for two Denver-area hospitals; as Chairman of the Professional Advisory Board of the Graduate School of Professional Psychology of the University of Denver; as Chairman of the Professional Practice Committee of the Colorado Psychological Association, and as Chairman of the Professional Standards Committee of the Colorado Neuropsychological Society. While in graduate school, Dr. Kalat helped organize mental health services at the Washington Free Clinic in Washington, D.C. and served as the Vice President of its Board of Directors. He was given an award for Distinguished Service to Psychology by the Colorado Psychological Association in 1993. He was awarded status as a Fellow of the National Academy of Neuropsychology in 2015.
